Two puffed rice squares recipes that take yumminess to a new level.
1. Black and white square
Ingredients:
- 1.25 L or 5 cups mini-marshmallows, or 250 g (approximately 40) big marshmallows
- 50 ml or 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1.5 L or 6 cups puffed rice (Rice Krispies)
- 1 Chocolats Favoris Maple Fondant chocolate bar, cut into small pieces
- 1 Chocolats Favoris Original Dark chocolate bar, cut into small pieces
- 1 215G can of Chocolats Favoris Maple Fondant fondue
- 1 215G can of Chocolats Favoris Original Dark fondue
Preparation:
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter or margarine and marshmallows on HIGH for 2 minutes. After 1 minute, use a spoon to blend the mixture. Mix until you get a smooth, consistent texture.
- Add the puffed rice and coat them well.
- Once it's completely coated, add the chocolate bar pieces and gently mix. Note that the mixture will cool quickly. Make sure you add the puffed rice to the melted butter/margarine and marshmallows as soon as possible. However, you also need to make sure that the melted butter/margarine and marshmallow mixture has cooled somewhat; if not, the chocolate pieces will melt too much.
- Pour the mixture into a Pyrex dish and let cool. Heat the fondues by following the directions on the cans. Cut the squares and pour the two fondues on top of each piece—depending on how decadent you want to be! Add extra garnishes to pack an extra punch.
